Karineem, Villem 
Villem Karineem (until 1 June 1936 Vilhelm Granfeldt; 3 May 1895 Vainopea Village, Viru County – 24 December 1982 Norrköping, Sweden), an Estonian marine.
Graduated Aaspere Parish School and Narva Peter the Great Nautical School. 1 May 1916 recruited into the Baltic navy. In World War I served on the patrol boat Namjot, participated in battles against air and submarine attacks. In 1918, he entered in the Estonian service and participated in the Estonian War of Liberation. 21 November 1918 took up service on gun boat Lembit as a senior officer. In 1918 was transferred to destroyer Vambola. 16–23 March 1919 participated in battles on the south front under Orava as a member of the amphibious assault battalion, 16–26 May 1919 in Ingria operation with the amphibious unit, in July in amphibious operations on Daugava River. From October of the same year, served in naval coast guard, communication and rescue stations administration, from December in the border guard administration. From 30 December 1922 senior officer on the gun boat Lembit, 19 January 1923 commander of the gunboat Meeme and 1 February 1925 commander of the auxiliary ship Kompass. In August was deemed unfit for active service. 1 October 1928 was included in the reserve forces.
From the same day took up the post of Ruhnu lighthouse keeper under the supervision of the Estonian Maritime Administration, replacing Arseni Brakmann. He was in charge of the Ruhnu lighthouse, marine communication, the postal agency, customs, police, forest management and the harbor. He was called the King of Ruhnu. Released from service 1 September 1940. In World War II served a member of the Omakaitse ('home guard') in Viru County. Emigrated to Sweden in 1944, lived in Norrköping.
